Lyle's Update on Mihret

Lyle is still recovering from his very quick trip to Ethiopia for court.  He spent more time traveling than in Ethiopia so his body is confused with all the changing sleep patterns.  Welcome to fatherhood again!  Hopefully soon he'll be able to come on himself and write about his trip.

For now, here's an update on Mihret:

She's emotional.  It's very understandable given Lyle was a new person to her and Lyle is a man.  She doesn't know men at the foster home.  But when she finally relaxed, it resulted in her sleeping in his arms.

She's definitely gained weight.  She's at 20 lbs now at 11 months.  She went from being underweight to overweight.  Although she has teeth, they are still feeding her a very high fat protein mix of formula and baby cereal mixed.

Her hair is not as curly as Mikiyas'.  More loose curls.  While Lyle was there they kept slicking it back with Vaseline or something.

She really enjoys music and can keep a good beat.

She absolutely L.O.V.E.D. the little toy Mikiyas picked for her.  She wouldn't put it down.  

She, and all the children, are very well taken care of and loved at the foster home.  

I don't think there was anything else to add.  Lyle's at work and I can't remember now.  If there's more, he'll hopefully add it to his post [if it gets done ;)].
