On Saturday [June 24, 2006] we had the pleasure of meeting T. from Golden. She came to visit some family and friends, being kind enough to get in touch with us. We knew T. only from some of our adoption forums, so finally meeting her in person was great.
Part of the joy in seeing T. was meeting her beautiful daughter D. D. is just over four years old now. T. and her husband adopted her from Ethiopia and they arrived home only a few weeks ago. Lyle's mom came with me to meet them. We had lots of pictures [D. loves the camera "PHOTO!"] and memorable adventures in the playground.
Later, T., D., Lyle and I headed to Fassil in Vancouver. We enjoyed our Ethiopian food and met some great Ethiopians there. The owner happened to be from the same village as D. so we learned more particulars about the culture in that particular region. D. showed us her dancing and was able to speak Amahric with the people at the restaurant. They treated her like a queen the moment she walked in, giving her a special table, her own meal and waited on her hand and foot. The generosity flowing in there was almost overwhelming.
From it, we also met some great people that will hopefully build into long lasting relationships for all of us.
So thanks again T. for visiting and giving us the joy of meeting D. She's absolutely gorgeous!!! [And thanks too for allowing me to share her picture with everyone!]

D. is so beautiful- just look at the smile! So sorry we missed out on the opportunity to meet with you guys- we were off in the sticks camping, felt great to get away!!!! We won't miss the next one!

That's cool. More of a reality check for you guys too that your time will come... hopefully sooner than expected.
