May 31, 2010 marks a few anniversaries:1. Lyle's gets another year older ... of course, more candles than two.
2. Three years since Mikiyas arrived to Canada ... home forever!
3. Two and a half years since we started adoption 2.
4. Two years since our dossier arrived on Ethiopian soil and our referral wait officially began.
May 31 appears to be quite a special day. A mixed bag of emotions if I must say.
So now that our DOB change for Mikiyas is legal, there's hasn't been much to post about on here [like I've had the time anyway!]. We are STILL working on getting our paperwork updated for the province. Having to re-do our medical report meant finding a new doctor that would be willing to fill it out knowing nothing about us. We found one successfully, but in order for him to honestly complete the report, it meant reviewing past records from our previous doctor, doing complete physicals and lab work ...... and we're still waiting for the reports.
But, although it's been a complete headache, and annoyance, there's been a ray of sunshine behind the ugly curtain. Having passed two years in the referral wait means all the paperwork in Ethiopia has to be updated as it's stale dated. So it just meant that we got a head start on re-doing it all.
HOWEVER, re-doing paperwork for Ethiopia would not hinder a referral. Re-doing paperwork for the province and their lost file does. So yes, we're still very much annoyed by that.

We will be at two year this month too - it is soooo hard and even harder to believe that we were told it would "only take 4-6 months" for our referral - very frustrating, and having to re-do paperwork is just not right - whatsoever. But I must have faith that the end will be amazing.
