So, what happened with the big important meeting on Friday? Did Haregewain have any headway with MOWA at the meeting that kept us on pins and needles? Are those of us with children from a certain area any further ahead?
No.
We were informed, without apology, that we were misinformed. That the all important meeting was not with MOWA. The pins and needles and hope we all held onto was for not needed.
The meeting was with other people that are involved in processing adoptions. They met to discuss if anyone with adoptions from the certain area were moving ahead. We have been informed that CAFAC "will not be meeting with MOWA, as she has been advised that this would not improve the situation. As an agency we need to proceed very carefully and respect the Ethiopian process. Haregewain continues to be hopeful that the letters will be issued, but has no timeline, we will need to continue to remain patient.".

Oh Sherri....
This such terrible news. How can they have no timeline? How dare they ask you to be patient? This is such bull.
Arg! I could just scream about all this adoption-related crap I am hearing about today!!!!!

Following the heels of bad and disappointing news, sometimes something unexpected and good comes....these words were not from a fortune cookie I read, it is what I have experienced in my life.
Sent with love and expectancy in God's grace and mercy.

I know your pain. Really I do. We were the first family to receive our adoption order from the judge, without a MOWA letter (very different circumstances than yours). It is so painful to know you have a child that is legally yours, sitting and waiting to be home where she belongs.
I will pray that MOWA sees the light and the importance of your daughter to be home with you.
