Garage Sale No. 2 Successful

We had our second fundraiser garage sale on July 7 & 8, 2006. This one was held in Lac La Hache, a half hour north of 100 Mile House, BC. 100 Mile House was where I [Sheri] was born and raised. Over the last month my mom gathered donated items to sell at the garage sale. Lyle, his parents and I went up north on July 6, taking with us some of the leftovers from the previous garage sale. We had no idea just how much stuff was being donated in 100 Mile. Here are some pictures from the first day:This picture is us carrying the tent canopy through a field and over a hill to get it to the sale.

I was hoping, as this was the town I grew up in and at one time knew everyone, that I would see lots of people come out to show support. It was somewhat disappointing that I could barely count on both hands the number of people that I knew. But, it was great meeting so many new people and receiving support from people that didn’t know us.

At the end of Saturday we had raised, believe it or not, exactly to the penny $1,000.00 from sales. [Lac La Hache is very small! We were at a truck stop / restaurant so travelers passing by were stopping to browse.] We decided that since we still had a third of what we came with, that we would come back the next day to get rid of a little more. Day two brought in $268.05 for a total of $1,268.05!! Praise God! What a blessing.

So again, thank you everyone for showing amazing support for such a great cause!!
