Two exciting pieces of information came in the mail this week from CHOIR. First, we received our sponsor child from Ethiopia. We are excited to welcome into our hearts a little girl. She is 3 years old and in kindergarten. She has a cleft lip that requires surgery. We will be contacting CHOIR to know if surgery will actually being an option for her. The information received only says that she requires the surgery. We have now five sponsor children, but this is our first from Ethiopia. The other four are from Rwanda.
Now for the second set of good news. We were able to raise quite a lot of money through the garage sales and donations for the foster home and orphanages in Ethiopia. We purchased some things to take with us and the remainder of the money we would take with us to buy larger items and / or give the money to them there. Well, some of you may recall that we were sending the money we hadn't spent fundraising to CHOIR to help purchase a dryer. They were able to do so during the month of October, and they confirmed that those funds were specifically used towards the purchase. It was nice to receive actual confirmation that the money was used exactly as requested.
Thanks so much to those of you who were able to help CHOIR with us.

wow! praise the LORD for that!
It has been so amazing and inspiring to hear of all the things that have come alive due to a small group of peoples' efforts.
The fact that your persistence and dedication to the cause is helping out SO much more than just your individual situation really moves my heart - and it's a complete testimony to everything I've ever witnessed in your guys' lives.
Sheri & Lyle,
That is wonderful news!!! You are making a difference! Do you have the star fish story, you should post that on your blog, I find it explains very well the difference everyone can make even if it is just a little bit....
I found a great quote last week as well that I have to share....
Some people see life the way it is and ask, why!" "Others see life the way it could be and ask, why not!"
You will also have to tell me more about your sponsor child, maybe I would be able to take more picture of her in February !
Thanks for sharing these great news, I'm really glad that they were able to buy a dryer !
