We have finished our CAFAC materials, which means … our educational components are done. Well, other than the parenting course. We have five more Tuesdays of that and we’ll be home free with our schedule for a little while.
My “Wish List” at Chapters online has disappeared. This would be because I ended up buying all the ones I wanted. A couple of people have asked what they were so I’ve posted a separate blog below with a list for interest’s sake. And thank you to Coles for overhearing a conversation I was having with a friend and donating some books for Ethiopia. They are planning to donate more!
We have received a couple cash donations, which is fabulous. [Thank you!!] We are keeping track of them for now. Once Sunrise has given the go ahead, we will make the donations directly to Sunrise in your name so you can receive a tax receipt. Sunrise is our adoption agency so technically you’d be donating to our adoption cost. BUT … what we will then do is “replace” the donated money with our own so all the money donated will still go to the orphanages in Ethiopia. Make sense? In short, all donations will still go to Ethiopia, not to us. We’re just doing it this way so people can receive a tax credit. If Sunrise finds they cannot provide a receipt in the end, all the money donated will still have gone Ethiopia. Please do not send donations directly to Sunrise.
Regarding donations for the garage sale - all items donated to be sold at the garage sale will be used to raise money for Ethiopia. We will not be using any items towards the our adoption costs unless they are our own items, or someone specifically says “we’d really like you to use this for yourself”. If donations are childrens' clothes, small toys, vitamins etc. they will not be sold. We will be taking those items with us to Ethiopia to leave at the orphanage.
Please do not feel obligated to donate anything to us. Lyle and I have made our commitment to this adoption ourselves. We’re only wanting to give you this opportunity to help send your aid and support to the children of Ethiopia. [If we adopt a second child and have exhausted all means of funds … maybe we’ll hit ya up then! ;) ]

Sounds like you've built up quite the library! Such a huge amount of preparation is going into this, I hope you're not both worn out by the time you get back home :)
