God Found Us You

Mikiyas has always had a very deep understanding about many things.  He has the heart of a man inside of him when it comes to some of the important things, like Family, Adoption, Ethiopia, Hurts of Children, Africa, even AIDS.  His knowledge and ability to grasp what every adult should but can't won't when it comes to these things is profound.

I was excited when we received a new children's book from Grandma Hatton.  I love children's books.  Love them.  I have over 400 children's books in my house, and I value them all.  But this one brought tears to my eyes and melted my heart.  In every perfect way, it describes adoption.  It's pages are filled with all the thoughts, reasonings, feelings, words ... that I've not been able to put into the perfect picture that this book displayed.  I was excited to share the book with Mikiyas.  He asked many questions throughout the reading to be sure that he fully understood what was being said.

God Found Us You is a book about adoption.  It is the conversation of a Mama Fox and her Son Fox.  They discuss his adoption.  How she waited and waited through seasons for him.  How it sometimes was hard to see other families together as she waited.  How she'd stare off in the distant imaging how he looked, smelled, sounded.  How sometimes she felt like giving up but she knew that God just hadn't found him for her yet.  And how it was so joyous when God did find him, in his perfect timing.  It also explained how his bio-mom [not that term] loved him so much that she made a choice and that they must have prayed so hard for each other as this all happened.  It is beautiful.

It is a book I recommend to any adopted family, especially those who truly feel that God perfectly formed your family together.  We love it!
