The other day I finally got around to watching another episode of Primetime: What Would You Say?. It aired February 25.
It was about two friends meeting for lunch. One of the friends showed up with her newly adopted daughter [probably age 5 or 6]. When it's two black women, it's a white daughter. When it's two white women, it's a black daughter.
The friend was horrified to see her friend having adopted a child of the opposite race. Remember, these are actors. The show is to see if / how bystanders in the restaurant will respond. The friend was loud, obnoxious and played the part well. Well enough that it made me angry, mainly because it recalled feelings of how I've felt when some people have said rude or obnoxious things to me.
What was said a couple of times from both black and white people was: "Blackbirds stay with blackbirds, doves stay with doves."
What was nice is seeing some real people defending the adoptions. Even one lady said she wouldn't do it, and that races should stay together, however, the friend should be supportive regardless. One gentleman said one of his sons is from his wife's previous marriage and he is black. He was very supportive and gave a lot of encouragement.

Children are children no matter what colour they are OR aren't and they deserve our love and to experience acceptance and joy in their lives...no one deserves mistreatment because of how they look regardless of colour, race or how they dress. Infact, their are some that deserve to be loved more because of the tenderness of their hearts and the suffering they have endured.
Kind of glad I didn't watch that one because even though the "friend" was an actress, I would have been cringing and upset.
